Doings of Learned Stupidities

(Eruditarum Stultitiarum Acta) We've been doing this for more than five years, but we lost the first year or so of archives. Frightening...

Clifty Falls
I went hiking and fossil photographing in Indiana and Kentucky with my earth sciences club this weekend. I have not had that much fun in a long time. Great people, great brachiopods (even found part of a nautiloid), almost enough said. When I was younger, I hated going out to the wilderness and doing dirty and minorly dangerous things. Of course, people made me do it, and I despised it. For some reason, I mind hiking through ice and crossing streams far less than I used to.

Then there was the food. We went to a barbecue place for dinner in a rather cool portion of Louisville (antiwar signs on the lawns, community churches, and the Lutherans were offering free HIV testing.) I finally went to Kentucky.

I had so much fun that I almost forgot how much work I have during the next few weeks. Oh well. I will be happy as I long as I am doing what I love.
