1. Most of you were mystified by the last installment of On the Expertise and the Excellence. It was precipitated by two odd incidents. First, an older friend who is on the ordination track himself asked me whether I had ever considered becoming a priest. This issue occasionally recurs in my life. The other stimulus was a talk with a tipsy friend of mine. Otherwise, it is fairly mysterious. tam plenus cum amore... Part of me is currently thinking that I should write a book of theology in the style (though certainly not the substance) of Nietzsche this summer, thereby putting Areopoesis on hold. You see, I can never finish anything.
2. In other news, everyone's favorite Baghdad architect Salam Pax is back blogging. If you're curious about what it was like in Baghdad during the war or where Iraq is heading these days. Salam Pax is a very observant and native blogger on the ground. Even better, Slate's top story is that Pax (whose first name is Salam) is the real deal.
