Come for the Perchlorate, Stay for the Company
Or so said the Man of Many Ways at dinner tonight with me and his Penelope. It was great to see Craig and meet Susan. He's a wit, and she keeps up... This left me somewhat undergunned, but it was fine. I won't bore you with our stimulating conversation, but it's clear that Craig is well and is very interested in the well-being of his friends and the environment they inhabit.
As for me, I continue to model the motions of cyberdust on cyberMars. The model crashes fairly quickly, but it remains stable enough for a few sols that I can take a look at some element and tweak it. My goal is to eliminate unrealistic negative values and conserve mass. On the other side, I need to fix the horizontal advection code. There are so many possible variables to be changed and so little continuity between the workings of one GCM and the next that my work seems much more like engineering than science.
