Doings of Learned Stupidities

(Eruditarum Stultitiarum Acta) We've been doing this for more than five years, but we lost the first year or so of archives. Frightening...

Ice Cream Recipe
On Saturday night, I went to Cold Stone Creamery in Louisville, KY. I highly recommend it. Their shtick is to let one choose an ice cream flavor and a few toppings. They then roll the scoop of ice cream over a cold piece of marble and mash in the toppings. There were a variety of recipes from which to choose, but I thought up my own. In honor of my recent Earth History midterm, I present Ophiolite Ice Cream.

Guiding Principle: The more nutty the more mafic, the more chocolate the more felsic.

Olivine: Pecans
Gabbro: Roasted Almonds
Sheeted Dikes: Snickers Bars
Pillow Basalt: M+Ms (Peanuts in the shells!)
Marine Sediment: Brownies
The question of what ice cream to use is not so critical. I tried coffee ice cream, but brown chocolatey ice cream would work as well.

Taste: This ice cream is very hard to eat, especially after eating a lot of french fries and barbecued beef. On the other hand, it tastes wonderful.

Opera
I'm going to see Partenope on Friday night. I'm very excited. Bring on the countertenors!
