More Classes
Core Bio: When I started drawing parallels between the initial lecture in this class and oh, Aristotle's Metaphysics , I knew that I might not like this course. Indeed, everyone to whom I spoke suggested that I would hate it. The lecturer seemed not to understand that there were a few physical sciences concentrators who had never taken AP Bio. She assumed that she was in a sea of humanities and economics concentrators. However, she seemed very nice, and the lectures could have been interesting, but the other elements of the course seemed less appealing. Fortunately, she administered a placement test, and I placed out of Core Bio. I just contacted my advisor to understand the impact of this on my curriculum, but if all goes well, I should be taking an ecology course by Thursday. If that doesn't work out, I may be shopping for some very strange courses. Any suggestions?
Drama: I love it. After I finish this, I have to write two pages on how to stage a particular scene that arose out of one of our exercises today. Better yet, the two plays we're reading are Othello and one based on a few of Zora Neale Hurston's short stories! And I get to write a dramaturgical essay and design costumes.
